What a start to the Dragon Year!

I have not had illness, fever, for as long as I could remember.

To the point that I thought, you know, no bug can touch me.

But I spent my Gong Xi Fa Cai in Male Medical Ward.

Not working, but being worked up.

I wanted to share a few things, I think it is important, especially for fellows housemen.

1. When fall sick, dont self medicate. Of if really so confident with the diagnosis, do some investigations (LOGICAL) ones. Cough + Fever ---> do a blardy Xray.

2. When seek treatment, find someone you dont know. Treating or being treated by someone you know tend to lead to cutting corners. Doctor's confidence lies on the fact that doctors know disease better than patient.

3. Have a thermometer at home. You know greatly benefit from numbers, not your gut feeling.

4. Dont stay with other housemans, ONLY. There's no other people to buy you food when you are sick, because all are working, all the time.

5. Despite what had been said that we are working so much less that our lives are so much easier nowadays, we are at higher and higher risk actually than what the old times. We have so much more bloods to take, so much more blood to send and trace. The number of positive biohazards we handled are significantly more than previous years, thats just the demographics. So please be careful, it only take one poke to say byebye.

6. Pinjam from words of bro dyson ceo coke: In life we are juggling a few balls with our hands, ball of health, family, friends, personal, and work. the Work's ball is made of rubber, it bounces. The others are made of glass. Take good care of your glassy balls. (But dont dump your shit to other people coz they also have the same balls to juggle)

I am sure you guys want to know what exactly happened to me.

My story goes like this:

I felt unwell, feverish on the 18th night. I slept early, didnt eat anything, thought can diet.

I woke up on the 19th, still going to work, not feeling quite right yet, but as we know, we all think: it will go away.

I had gone to work with this type of feeling before this and it went well after a while. So that day, i was feverish, took panadol (pakai mulut not the rectal ones) and i was well to go until lunch time.

Feeling feverish again. Another set of panadol in after lunch. Lasted till 5pm (my shift was until midnight) but after that i just too weak to talk

**Ladies and gentleman: TALKING Is Ang Choon Seong's 6th Vital Signs. Unable to talk means, very sick, presumed sepsis.**

I went home midnight, finished 3Litre water and 4 rounds of panadol, but fever persist in between doses of Panadol (6 hour apart) I started to have more cough, started to sound like chest infection.

The next day my friend brought me antibiotics.

With antibiotics, my cough-out phlegm becoming better looking, but still the feverish thing still come and go with panadol.

I went to A&E to get a sick leave because I am on night shift the next day, i dont think i can work, at all.

My friend in A&E gave me one, as my story and look, does deserving needs.

The next day i stay at home, same thing happened. On off fever, cough cough cough, slightly btetter

Alas, I went to work on the 4th day of illness AKA FIRST DAY OF DRAGON YEAR. (i memang supposed to work on that day, and somemore i heard got severe lack of people) after taking panadol.

In ward i didnt do much, dare not to cough, dare not to go near kids, go pinjam the thermometer in ward to check my temperature.

WAH - 40 C

Means all the while my fever is higher than 40!!!

I run straight to X ray department, do X ray to check where is this source of high grade fever.

PONG ----> huge white white dragonball in my right middle lobe.

Went straight to A&E for admission. And its, the FIRST DAY OF DRAGON YEAR.

The end.

Foodnod: I was being suspected to have TB or HIV, due to the fact that I am young healthy and yet having such a chest infection. I cant stop thinking: Did i needle poke? no.... did i did this did i did that...SO SCARED!!!

But now, investigated and cleared of TB and HIV. Hoho. I am well and planned for discharge coming morning.

Mi Goreng

I like mi goreng so much so that I would eat 3 times a day.

Seriously.

When i was younger, I am only allowed to eat mi goreng (segera) if it is raining and we are not able to go out to tapau makan.

Then I would run the back of the house to hunt for eggs. Erm, that time i am still in primary school, there's chicken and ducks behind my house.

There is one time, in banting, me and another blowcase friend, Sopek, planned to FRY! the mi goreng segera.

Equiped with 3 packs of indomee, 2 eggs, a pan, a portable stove, minyak masak, we embarked on this mission.

Fire on.

Mi goreng indomee opened.

Fck.

There are a few things we should bear in mind in dealing with sick people.

It is very saddening, that the sick who are poor tend to do less well, than the better off.

Not because they cant bear the cost.

But because they thought they can bear the sickness, and nothing worst can happen to their life anymore since they are already so suffering.

But as the saying goes, sudah jatuh, ditimpa tangga.

I know how it feels like, believe it or not la.

Well. staying at home sick hoping that it will get better itself, afraid of seeking treatment due to money problem should not happen to a country which spend billions on a submarine.

Unfortunately.

And it is even more unfortunate for the children with chronic diseases.

For example, asthma, simple, treatable, but the parents tend to think that it will go away.

Explanation is key. Medicine is essential.

I felt angry when our system provide FREE medications for the asthma - ie the Inhalers, but STRANGELY not the aerochamber.

They have to buy themselves, rather expensive.

For kids, inhalers without aerochambers (which is a kind of instrument to deliver the medication to the lungs) are useless. They wont be able to benefit from the inhalers.

Whenever i see parents who are on bike, i will buy the aerochamber for the child.

People always ask wah u have a lot of money hor.

We dont see the point here.

It is not how much money I have.

It is how much money they have.

It is saddening truth that our healthcare funding is such a way that depending on how much we have, to decide on how much they will get.

And even more saddening when we have the guys running the country sending a dude to space.

While some of the poor children here on earth, not having the spacer to breath properly.

I REFER to “Overworked housemen” (Letters, Oct 5) and other grouses that increasingly make their way into our media by Generation Y housemen. As a specialist in a government hospital in Selangor, I feel that instead of silence that may be misconstrued as guilt, there is a need to reply.

We are now at a crossroads in our health system. The high standards that were maintained through the years have fallen by the wayside. This is especially evident from the constant complaints of the younger generation, although the system and the government are bending over backwards to accommodate them. The reasons:

-- An overload of new housemen/doctors – 500 a year in 1998 and 7,500 in 2011, with the number estimated to rise to 10,000 in coming years.

-- Too many medical schools in the country – 42 at the last count, with some having very low standards. Indonesia with a population of about 300 million has half the number. How did these colleges come to be recognised?

-- Too many medical schools recognised overseas, with the standards, especially of Russian ones, being extremely low.

-- So we are now inundated with housemen to train, wherein 60% are of very low standard – meaning not even fit to pass the finals in a medical school exam, let alone to treat patients.

-- We, the specialists, are forced to retrain and even reteach these incompetents.

-- There are only so many times you can give advice to a person who doesn’t listen – sometimes when a patient’s life is at stake, voices have to be raised! Don’t you agree?

-- Increasingly, our politicians get involved when some VIP’s son or daughter who can’t cope, just wants to float through. Many specialists have been given letters of warning, when all they were doing was enforcing appropriate disciplinary action in respect of housemen who had gone AWOL.

-- The number of litigation cases against the Health Ministry due to housemen is at an all-time high.

-- The shift system was opposed by all senior faculty in the ministry, vis a vis all senior specialists, but it was forced on us. Who is going to monitor all these housemen under the shift system – the specialists?

-- When these housemen become medical officers and specialists, are they also going to go on shift?

-- We have better things to do than mollycoddle a tsunami of sub-standard doctors. If we are not careful, there will be a great exodus of specialists from the public health system in the next few years.

All you see in government hospital nowadays are the poor and the illegals – everyone else has an insurance card! So to the powers that be, wake up and smell the coffee.

I have never moan about being scolded by my boss, with justifiable reason.

But I am very disappointed with the way things are going.

Is it our fault that we ended up with 50 HOs in one department?

Is it our fault that we ended up doing shift work?

Is it our fault that we have house officer graduated from Russia?

then why are we getting all the moaning?

I find it increasing irritating, (probably too strong a word to use), increasing uneasiness when specialists complained regarding the low standard of my fellow equals of house officers

Fact: House officer does not need to know much, if the current job description is all we do.

Mental strength is all that you need.

It doesnt matter where you graduate from, as long as you have the correct attitude to study whenever, you have the time, and shift system, my respectable Dr S.A, is the window of opportunity for that free time.

I graduated from one of the finest Medical School in the world, but I do not see myself better than my Russian colleagues who put effort in what he/she does.

But when all of us keep pressing on the fact that they are RUSSIANs, UKRAINIANs, I think we are not, anywhere near to solve the issue.

The fact is, like you said, at a very important juncture of which what we do now, or rather, what we dont do now, will shape the future of health care in our country. Our health care. not just "them", coz eventually all of us, our family members, will have medical problems, using the healthcare systems, be it public or private.

We need to change the leadership and management style in our training hospital. We need to change the attitude of all the specialists, and those who are bestowed with the noble duty to train the younger doctors.

Rather than embarked on the similar issue each and everytime, blaming it to the policy makers only,

Why not we have a pow-wow to sit down and work out, what we can do to make this work?

Changing the training structure?

Changing the attitudes of house-officers?

Pumping in confidence?

Getting them more involved in everyday decision makings?

Put in more effort to get them into formalised trainings?

My respectable readers;

There is no such thing as poor medical graduate, in my opinion,

Coz either you are a high flying gold medalist medical graduate who knows the whole of davidsons, or you are just another medical graduate who knows nothing.

But we will learn.

No such thing as poor houseman!

Only poorly taught trained, poorly motivated house officers.

At least that is I would like to think of my fellow colleagues and myself.

That we all are doctors, and we all sacrificed our valuable youths, to be a someone that can help someone else, in times of need.

That we are not just trying to get past each year only to look for the newest car, buying another house, feeding another family.

While others are sacrificing their youth to gather more money, to live better, to spend more time with family,

we are still studying, for exams, exams and more exams, to be a better positioned, better know-how, better equipped doctor. and that, is independent, of

where you graduate from.

When I opened The Star Online to read news, the box of the most viewed news by Malaysians would never fail to amaze / amuse me.

The day after Najib announced his latest budget, the all important budget news only managed to get to the number 4, not too sure whether it is of particular order.

We live in today's world, keep thinking of the past, and worrying of the future.

Perhaps the best thing to, is to keep going, keep going, keep going.

Shift work may affect housemen’s training, says Abdul Hamid

PETALING JAYA: The creation of shift duties to ease the long working hours of housemen in public hospitals may affect their training.

Physicians for Social Responsibility vice-president Datuk Dr Abdul Hamid Abdul Kadir voiced concern that training and supervision would be affected for those on the night shift because senior doctors only come when on call.

“New graduates require special attention and the shift system will not help train new house officers (HOs),” he said in an interview.

In his Budget 2012 speech on Friday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said that the Government had introduced a flexible schedule with an average of 60 working hours per week for housemen to ease the workload of doctors who had to work for up to 120 hours per week.

He said that they would be paid a Special Flexible Working Allowance of RM600 a month effective Sept 1 this year, replacing the on-call allowance.

Dr Abdul Hamid said the over-crowding of housemen in most government hospitals had led to a lack of supervision and the night shift would only make the situation worse.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said they would still be taught during overlapping shifts when housemen from both shifts would be present.

“We will make sure they get the exposure they need,” he said.

Liow said shifts and reduced hours were needed to prevent on-calls that were extended for long without rest.

The priority to be houseman is to make sure your logbook is filled up correctly, cheated properly so as to avoid extension, and god willingly, you would finish ur housemanship in time, logbookcally.

I failed to prioritize.

It is not to do ur job properly.

It is not to make sure patients are attended well.

It is not to make sure your teammates can pull through their day with your maximum ability to help.

I dont understand why my government said the economic growth is healthy at 5% and inflation is neglible but the people's salary remained more or less the same for past 5 years but the price of kopi ais increased at an average 10sen a year since 5 years ago.

Referral!

I always find the starting sentence of "Thank you very much for the kind referral" as the most reassuring sentence in the casenote of any patients.

I wanted to believe that the other side really, thankful, that i refer to him/her.

The very nature of our work is highly dangerous, and risky.

To both, patient and us.

As our CPH always said, defining self knowledge and capabilities' boundaries would be one of the most difficult things to do as medical practitioners.

We refer because we are not in the right position to make that call.

I would take pride when people refer to me.

I would really meant it when i said, "many thanks for your referral"

That is the whole idea of specialization.

That is why butcher only good in cutting meat, and plumber can do the pipings.

When the nurse refer to us the lowly houseman for spike of fever, or high bp, low urine output;

I sincerely wanted to help.

Because we are having the same dillemma when we refer our MO/specialist for high urea/creat overnight.

We want some of greater-than-us position, capability, experience, and know-how to tell us what to do, and doing the right thing. In some level, to protect us.

I cant never quite understand the fury of certain people upon getting referrals.

Also the grumpiness when attending to case referred.

To me, it is impossible to present a case without get bombarded if the other party set out the intention to do so.

I dare say even when I heard some biggies presenting to another biggie, there are gaps that i can pick up, cut in and ask for.

Why they chose not to do so?

Because the focus is to work together with mutual respect, end point is to find out the problem and solve it.

Some of the referrals are bad, i must admit, but human, like Pavlov (the dog fella) said, will inevitably, learn.

Sometimes our gaps of knowledge with lack of experience dealing with particular problem is restricting our ability to present case well, we simply dont know what is the thing they look for.

But instead of going NGAUM!!!!, the benefit of doubts has to be given to the trainee.

which means to go back to the work of a normal houseman, running bloods, tracing results, referring cases to subspec and get bombarded.

Had been enjoying myself for 1.5 months at the subspec.

In some ways I missed those primary team work.

Taking bloods in the wee hours of morning, rushing to do reviews, presenting case to bosses knowing nth abt the patient, etc etc.

All it needs is team work, team work and team work.

Hope i have got myself a great team, with someone that can tell me what to do.

Tired of telling other ppl what to do.

one who examines hundreds of patients in medical school, and actively interested in examine patients during working hours

one who reads on most up to date guidelines

one who understands the meaning of death

one who fully understands the saying, bos is always right, and if you think bos is wrong, you are wrong.

if the above is getting you saying, where can like that one! if bos is wrong it is our job to say bos is wrong.

my very next question squarely is:

how sure are you that your bos is wrong?

is it because the patient dies?

is it because you have read and experienced so much so that you have the confidence otherwise?

is it because you think your bos is uselesser than you despite in seeing world earlier than you?

i should have done other things because

i am too nice to be a doctor.

what? nice means you are good to go!

no.

nice hearted, empty brain. and shaky hands make a very bad doctor.

I have a total of 3 calls in the 8 days, after a week of free from calls (for unknown reason)

Life is great without call.

I guess the whole dilemma regarding the call system vs shift system is rather hypothetical.

U cant compare 2 things when you only have the experience of doing one.

I think shift system is the way forward in view of the difference in the working environment and the expectations, challenges and styles nowadays.

The argument that houseman would have less practice is void, from my point of view, because there is nothing much going on during oncall.

Cutting corners is the only thing happening at 3am.

Judgement are suboptimal.

Procedures MUST be postponed to coming morning because it is dangerous to both the patients and doctors, in a way.

So what is the whole thing of training during calls that they meant?

Do they mean during calls we get to do more bloods?

Or clerk more case half asleep?

It is nearing impossibility to operate during that kind of hours in training spirit.

With no disrespect to the old timer who had their training the EOD calls way, i think working environment is different now.

I am constantly pushed to work without knowing exactly what I am doing.

I just do because it is the right thing to do, according to what the books say.

Medical school prepared us very badly.

The increase number of medical students in medical schools dilute the quality they produce.

The diluted product like me will produce even more diluted MO, as the housemanship in big numbers is again, dilutional.

Now the titre is amazingly worrying, even to me myself as the receiving end, of less work, less scolding.

Big man make big decisions.

I wonder if i would be man enough to make that big decision, to do some other things rather than doing important things without knowing the important things.

Then, the rounds would be so besto.

Bos apologised to me when he asked me to say again coz he couldnt hear me, coz i mumbled~!

I find that the most important part is that one should always remember that HO is not houseofficer.

HO, is a doctor.

There are times we found ourselves so dejected and not appreciated, but we have to remember, we are doctors.

Screw the bosses who treat us otherwise.

Doing the job well is not just taking the blood and trace result.

It is not satisfying if that is all we do.

I find it satisfying when I explain things to patients.

I find it extremely satisfying when i explain the discharge plan with the patient.

I am extremely pissed off when i heard one guy told me, brother, setttled. I settled the thing already.

The patient is still desat-ing, the job that he said settled was, to refer anaest.

He referred.

F u la. U are not a operator or messenger.

For godness sake, at least set a line la, brother.

It is actually very true. As we succumb and bow to the greatness of birth age, we cant seem to overcome the pressure of the afromentioned.

and paradoxically, as we get older, the pool of targets are getting smaller, and everyone seemed to be coupled.

And it is inevitable, that one of these days, someone somewhere somehow, will have to explore the impossibility of taking those who are taken.

This is funny.

Bersih 2.0's organiser claimed that the main objective of the rally is to call for a clean election.

Mainly these people are from Oppositions.

The mega non-governmental-organisation by the name of Perkasa and obviously bored UMNO Youth not happy.

The election is clean enough-lah, they said.

To Perkasa (or rather to be fair to other members of Perkasa whom I knew, it was IA), the Bersih 2.0 is pengacau keamanan Malaysia. Then somewhere along the lines it was said to be anti-Malay. Flights of thoughts also cannot catch the logic of our dear esteemable Pasir Mas.

Then suddenly... UMNO Youth said they are going to organise another rally ON THE SAME day.To support the current electorate system, claimed to be fair enough.

Somewhere along the way, UMNO was saying that if it is not clean, would the Opposition think they can win 5 states and deny BN of 2/3 in previous election?

Funny. 9 of July, tarikh keramat. Everyone mau rally the same day.

A quick search in Google of what so significant about the date answered my curiousity:

July 9 1986 – The New Zealand Parliament passes the Homosexual Law Reform Act legalising homosexuality in New Zealand.

I see.

Well, all 3 rally at the same day, I want to go all 3 la.

As a rakyat, I have one suggestion:

For the 3 parties involved, instead of all in one day, why not make it alternate week? Now seriously. We have rally every now and then across the planet. There is no need to rush. Unless the election is to be organised on the 10 of July, we still have time.

Seriously. Perkasa can have the tarikh keramat of 9 July. Bersih 2.0 Pengacau. Reason: To show and reaffirm our sincerity that we are really not keen to have a Christian country here.

For the information of Perkasa, if a rally is organised 1-2 months ago, no one will burn cars and throw stones la. Whats the point? The burn cars and buildings mostly done in kneejerk rally, when the rally people are not getting enough attention.

And regarding concerns of business would be affected and financial lost claimed to be in MILLIONS, in my opinion, cuti rehat one day like dat time we closed for Malaysia victory in Suzuki Cup should be adequate to avoid the million dollar business effect.

The rally stand to benefit the small scale hawker selling drinks there me thinks.

Why not just think of this as a family day, that 40-50k ppl wearing same color going for a walk, like Star Walk, rather than thinking Anwar would hold a torch and stand on the pile of corpses of 20 innocent bypassers and burning the EC chairman alive?

As for the claim that Election is clean and fair enough, go back to school, restudy the subject of Moral.

This is a classic classic example of the way our gahmen works.

9 months ago, I attended a briefing/induction in Kuala Lumpur, and the spokesperson from Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia with the full authority from the Ministry briefed us this way:

For those who served the first and second year in East Malaysia, you will be given priority to be transfered out to West Malaysia upon completion of the 2 years service.

This is to encourage more people to work in East Msia, where the demands are higher.

For those who served in Semenanjung, if you are sent to East Malaysia, you have to go. Infact, most of you would be sent there thereafter.

Bullshit.

Today, a new guideline issued.

Housemen who completed the first 2 years of service, would be made compulsory to serve another year in whichever places in Sarawak. Any application for transfers out of Sarawak would not be entertained.

The thing is, i dont mind working here.

But, I dont like the flip-flop decision making.

Say 1 today, do another tomorrow.

To the people up there in the ministry, pls buck up.

With this type of policy making, you are having a wrong concept.

The reason why we ended up with the current number of houseman, is your, MINISTRY's fault. NOT OUR FAULT.

The very first sign of weak policy making is the inability to predict into the future.

You make a policy like this, would you think anyone would apply to Sarawak? To commit 3 years here?

and you would have tonnes of application to go out of Sarawak with this type of compulsory thingy.

The beauty of serving the people is to serve voluntarily.

great bosses who was being extremely patience with me and especially my nonsense and sub-competent know-how in medicine.

great colleagues who entertained me with their laughter when I trying to entertain them with my high level jokes (lame)

i'll name you 3 of the best colleagues i ever had for 4 months! - Khairunisa, Jane and Kristie. Unlimited support for blood taking and line setting whenever i faced difficulties.

I have many good teachers in my life.

One of them who stood out so uniquely - Mr Vincent Gunaseelan, my biology teacher International Baccalaureate, Mara College Banting.

He left an unique impression in my life, one which is somewhat different from our textbook of "Good Teachers".

He taught me to be realistic.

To be honest to yourself, and to other people around you.

He taught me that we are all human, we all have weakness, and of course, luckily, we all have our own strengths.

You are a better human when what you do better enables you to redeem, cover and overcome what you have done due to your weakness. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.

You are a better student when what you have done during your times of hard work and total concentration enables you to redeem what you have done during your times of slackness and procrastination. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.

You are a better family man when what you earn enables you to pay what your family spend. When how your time spent with your family enables you to repay for the time you spent with work or any other things or with another family, hopefully not. =P.

"KMB is a school of scholars. If we do extremely well, we are doing our job fine. If we did not do well, we failed, terribly and horribly."

and i recalled this, when he said this to me (and probably a lot of other ppl as well):

"The difference between you and me, is 1. age. 2. you are smarter than me."

"Nothing else."

Such was his non-pretentious, humble and erm - take this:, joker personality.

He taught me for 2 years. A total of four semesters.

Both years, for four semesters, he couldn't finish his syllabus with my class, MO3E.

He blamed me, eric, hanis, azados and another few kaki kacau, and himself.

He said our class is more entertaining to teach. More relaxing, thus we have to go slower. Ha ha ha.

In the end of the day, he said, if we score in exams (we are scholars in KMB) it would not because of his lessons. and if we didnt score in exams, it would not be because of him didnt finish the syllabus.

Sometimes I wonder, if i tell this to the world, who would agree this guy as a good teacher?

He smokes, he drinks. He jokes around.

Me, in many ways, influenced by him to take things more lightly rather than stress up myself.

I owe him for the way he looked up, the way he valued, me as a person.

And I agree with you Mr Guna:

Dimsum places are so hard to come by in this part of the world and to make things worse,

the only place that I frequented for dimsum, whenever i am able to (due to the nature of my job which is not very dimsum-friendly) is the Mitsu tea house (cant really recall the name, something along that line)

Hari Gawai used to be just 2 words on the calendar, and the kajian tempatan book.

But in Sarawak, the state is giving 2 weeks school holidays leh.

Mind you chinese new year only has 1 week school holiday.

Anyway, sempena we are given half day off during public holiday, I joined a group of other tak-tau-malu-gang, go around driving for hours to visit ppl who are celebrating gawai.

equipped with 3 cars but only 7 ppl (due to miscommunication regarding the distance, i tot very near!!!) we polluted the world even more that day.

First, we went to Bau.

This is Wilmore's place in Bau. That's where I try this tebu-tuak. Very nice.

After makan till puas, we moved on.

Damn far la the second destination, somewhere called annah rais.

I tot it was a scam, coz i searched googlemap for Anak Rais, no address found.

It reminds me of Scottish Highlands, the road there.

It was so packed and jammed in Annah Rais, a rumah panjang, which to my disappointment, not very panjang! Hahaha.

But nevertheless, it is still very longy, homely, and traditionally designed, with Astro, and full 2G signal.

Which brings a very important question mark to my life. WHY MY HOUSE IN KUCHING GOT NO PHONE SIGNAL!!!

Good morning!

Post-post call morning is precious.

I had one of the most energy-sapping call on thursday-friday.

Didnt get to blink even once and I think I had clerked in the whole of Kuching pregnant ladies.

And obviously made a number of blunders in it.

The theory is always, the more you do, the more mistake you tend to do.

The faster you do, the more mistake you tend to do.

But the slower you do, the more patient you made them wait for hours.

It is always tricky to strike the delicate balance between them.

I guess it is up to the person.

I personally cannot tolerate waiting more than 2 hours for anything, so I would not let my patient to wait for more than two hours, IF POSSIBLE.

I remembered a case.

The wife, age 20 and the husband, age around the same, so unique.

The wife fell and sprained the hand.

My colleague clerked her, and do the necessary.

Then he told me this couple, dont know how to go back to their rented room, odd job workers no money. Came by neighbour's car. neighbour chau liau.

I went down to xray department.

I saw the husband.

I asked him how you two going home later.

He shake his head and say, dunno la doctor.

He reminds me of a young couple who married without a financial plan.

I like him because he has that worry first dad looking. He might be a drug addict i dunno. he might be a robber i dunno.

But i like his worried face. sort of like how so many ppl like mona lisa's idiotic smile.

I gave him 100quid.

- The 100 i earned from taking this extra call.

Time passed so fast that I cant even recalled exactly what happened over these 4 months, ei no, actually over the past almost 8 months in this land of hornybill.

I dont know if I had changed much over the past 8 months here but hair style definitely had changed.

Appetite changed as well.

Financially more independent.

Need to oncall more, to get more money.

If there is not much life available for me now, why not make use of the time to enjoy life later on!

I recently read a book entitled Stumbling on Happiness.

I truly recommend this book to those who are finding life a bit too hard at the moment.

There is such thing as synthetic happiness, and the author is trying to convince us that the synthetic happiness is as good as the true happiness.

What is synthetic happiness?

Put it simply; The happiness that you claimed when you are not supposed to be happy in the logical sense.

For example, you just being sacked from work and you think to yourself that you are happier than when you are working.

Cheating yourself is what I would be thinking as synthetic happiness.

The author did a couple of behavioural test to prove his point, that our frontal cortex which control our emotions? , i cant remember exactly la, but the thing is that the happiness that we felt when we won lottery is of the same when we felt happy not winning the lottery.

Did I just confuse you?

This note is to commemorate the day that was just mentioned by a single paragraph in our history book.

I personally felt May 13 is more meaningful, far more than that of August 31 or Sept 16 combined times 2.

I think that this should be a day for all of us to stop, take a step backwards, and think again, reconsider, and rejustify our own's views and commitments on our country.

Honestly the only tihng I learned in UK throughout my 5 years vacation there, is Malaysia.

I happened to cross paths with a lot of people, and i can summarize all that I know them about their views on our own country into 2 groups:

1. I dont give a damn about politics. It doesnt make a difference to my life, at all.

2. I want to be the next prime minister.

Obviously the kind of views and aspirations we all have is ultimately lies on the person himself, on his type of personality, his upbringing, the amount of political exposure he has, and etc. And rightly so, this is one's personal opinion and rights.

But on this day of May 13, I think we should all, take one backwards and think again, why are we in any particular stand or group? Why are you thinking that you are taking this stand of indifference-i-dont-care or otherwise , or even why you are on the side of pro-government, on the side of anti-government, pro-NGO, etc etc etc.

I am in no way trying to sell the idea that everyone needs to be political active, going down to the street and shout reformasi!

It is not the kind of political involvement I am trying to encourage, and well, I am in no position to do that.

All I ask for is for us to think again the concreteness of our logic when we say the sentence: I dont care, it doesnt make a difference to me!

We might be thinking getting to know the politics ie having a sense of loving this country is so not important now and other more urgent things like getting enough meal on the table is much more important.

Well, yes and no.

Sadly but true, there are a number of people who hated our own country so much to the extent of thinking of emigration or working somewhere else and not coming back to this damn place anymore.

Well my personal thought is that what have we done to rectify this?

Now if we just take a small step backwards, looking around us, then we (at least myself) realize that the truth is, we have to love this country, and we have no choice but to keep her fit, defending her.

I mean just think about you as a damn damn poor guy with a medical problem, government hospitals service is the only thing you will have, and how good your government hospitals depending on how good your country is, which in turn depending on how good the fellas who are running the country is.

Or just think if you have both parents who are not working, and a brother who is a drop-out, all you have is the government schools, and universities and scholarships to take you forward, and that depending on how good your country is, blah blah blah.

I can go on for pages, but the point is,

You cannot run away (famous line by a good friend of mine -of the 2nd type mentioned above).

This is our country, You are born here, You are raised here. You have no choice, you cannot run away from this fact.

Plato chided all those who are not interested in politics ie those who are simply crossing after reading newspaper or attending a ceramah, by definition not voting wisely and rationally, by saying, "Those who are too smart to engage in politics are punished by being governed by those who are dumber"

And he is right. I always think that our leaders today are dumbass.

We are in the middle of no-where as a nation,

and all we care about now is whether when christians are going to take over the country.

I mean, wtf.

I happened to be educated to be much more fluent in Malay and English, with substandard major dialect of my own race - Chinese.

I tell you one thing.

I really hate people: read-Chinese, who thinks that Hah? You are a chinese but you dont know Chinese?

I am a Malaysian Chinese. And I am proud of it.

Chinese clans never give me anything my entire life, it was my country that gave me 1mil to study.

If I know how to speak chinese, it is purely for cultural advantage, nothing to do with my loyalty to my race and how humane i am.

Seriously. Think about it.

I dont know what the future holds for us Malaysians when now all the chinese children are mend to go to chinese schools, then to chinese dominant uni, then stay and breed in chinese areas, mix only with chinese everything everything all chinese.

I dont know what the future holds for us Malaysians when all the Malays only thinking of how fragile the position of Islam as the religion of the federation, or how the young Muslims boys and girls being confused by the word Allah, and actively banning every single unislamic thing around.

I dont know what the future holds for us Malaysians when all our politicians care is whether Anwar cucuk Saiful and melanggan ayam, or Najib screwing Mongolians, or his wife taking over the country.

I really dont know.

May god (whichever applicable) bless us all with wisdom and maturity to grow as a nation.

Overseas medic grad

This is an honest entry for those who are currently studying medicine overseas.

People used to say enjoy while you studying.

It is true. Damn true.

Enjoy working is oxymoron, as working by definition is undesirable.

Enjoy studying is possible, especially if you happened to do well every year in year out.

Working back home in Malaysia is.....honestly, unpleasurable.

The Oncall system is, to me, the worst human idea after gay sex.

It expects a houseman/human to perform at the highest level during his/her lowest point of the day, oxymoron.

We, human, be it houseman or MO, or specialist, or consultant, need to sleep.

We have been trained to sleep. Of course i can stay awake for 36 hours, but I would not be able to perform at the same level for 36 hours.

There will be times I dozed off. Inevitable.

This is what our parents taught us since young.

Eat properly, bath properly and sleep properly. When the time comes.

During oncall, sleeping is not an absolute rarity. It is actually at your own risk.

Honestly, I have not slept, leaving my ward, yet during my past months of active calls.

Reason?

I am a good houseman? I am a hardworking houseman?

None of the above.

I am too scared.

I am scared when something happened, I am sleeping and bosses looking for me.

The other day, I was sleeping during my passive call (thats when you are oncall to go Operation Theater if there's any emergency case)

I missed my boss's phone call.

This boss of mine is very very nice lady. She didnt scold me. She just told me.

At that time, I felt damn bad. I felt I did not earn that 100 ringgit.

Subsequently, believe it or not, I donated the 100bux to charity the next day.

The point i want to make is,

IF YOU ARE COMING BACK,

do not expect anything.

No matter how well you prepared mentally, life is different.

My sincere advice is, if you have to come back, then come back.

You wont die. I didnt die.

But

If you have a choice to choose, perhaps, you should stay there.

Get some professional papers done, then come back to serve as boss. We need more nice bosses who had not gone through hell of housemanships and black old days of insufficient doctors then.

Statistically, you would be a nicer bos, and nicer bos means nicer work done. Trust me. It works that way. At least to me.

I define HO - House-Officers as one who stays (House) in the place one works (Office)

It is not easy to come to sense with this oxymoronic phrase of House-Officer as no other language can say it out as nice as English.

How do you translate it to BM?

However.

House Officers in particularly me, go to work with very different mood, everyday.

Sometimes, high. Sometimes, low. Sometimes, no one knows.

And no one affect your mood more than your, MO. Not your bigger bos.

Is MO a short hand for, Marah Orang?

Or is it, eMO?

Seriously by now you should be putting your hands together applauding my creativity.

Speaking of MO, funnily enough, the generation of MO we happened to have are of different upbringing and character building (medical training wise)

I finally come to term with why I was so pissed with 5 year old kid playing I-phone.

HOs and MOs, seldom, play together happily, in general.

Well, they are your bosses, thats for a reason.

But again my screwed up logic come out with another explanation.

Not necessarily.

Being a houseman killed off your dreams to save life when you embarked on your medical school journey.

Your fear no1, obviously is to do something wrong and harm the patient.

But honestly, probably not very distant away the fear no2, is to get screwed by your MO.

Sometimes, the screwing is with screwdriver, perfectly serves the cause.

But sometimes, or politically correct let me put it, a few times, very very few times, the screwing is the tukul hitting the screw, in the name of teaching but lack of reason.

When this happen, politically correct again, not always, very rare, one in a millionth probably, hehe, gives you the drives to work more carefully, and harder, to be better, than your bos.

And ultimately, your dream, the dry dream, the day dream, the houseman's dream, is to be the bos of your current bos.

And screw back. and for reason I do not know why, this Dan Brown's thing came to me:

House Officer's Dream = is to be, HOD. Head of Department.

We are closer than them, the MOD.

Kuching.

I still dont understand.

I have been in Kuching for the past 5 months or so.

Legend has it that James Brooke name this place after a cat.

But.

Until now.

I still havent seen any cats around this area.

All i see so far.

Dogs....Dogs...and more Dogs.

And that the dogs here are no ordinary dogs.

They sing their doggie anthem when the Mat Kool ice cream guy comes with the motor. Seriously. I swear.

So why there are so many dogs and no cats in a place that supposed to be having a lot of cats as the name suggests?

I know.

Coz all the dogs are scammed to come here.

They thought there will be a lot of cats for them here.

This is sort of like the Ladies Nights scam in clubs.

All you see is batangs, batangs, and more batangs.

Coz all also thought a lot of ladies on ladies nights.

You might wonder why am I talking so much rubbish so randomly?

Coz someone asked me why I choose kuching.

I said, to get chix.

On call is a modern day slavery, of course, for good sum of money.

Forcing one to work at highest level of energy and concentration, when the time is biologically clocking the body to shut down to the lowest level of activity, is pathological.

With the number of houseman we have in this place, projecting over 2 years when all of us, if according to plan, going to be medical officer, we dont have to be oncall.

We do shifts system. Much better.

But right now, at this moment in time...

I still have to on call tomorrow.

Really omg.

I dont know how I managed to pass my O N G rotation 2 years ago.

There are so many things I dont know.

There are so many things I never heard of.

In surgical, a houseman dont have to know much to be a doctor.

Decisions are made by the boses.

But in O N G, there are times, i should say most of the times, houseman need to make calls.

If dont, you get scolded, thats lucky. Mum and baby in danger thats not good.

The other day I got scolded.

For knowing nothing.

Then the bos asked me where I graduated from.

I came back, changed fb profile.

Perhaps, the famous Lincoln's is correct, with alt.

You can cheat some of the systems, all the time.

So far ok-lah i supposed.

Coming to the end of the surgical posting already.

I AM ON HOLIDAY!!!!

Rabbit has been a mix year so far, or in the beginning I should say.

Good news is that my full-of-nonsense attitude is largely acceptable among the colleagues and nurses.

Not so well accepted by bosses (some of them i guess).

Other good news is that saving all my leaves for end of posting is really good. It reduces the chance of come-into-contact with bosses, so the chance of kena extended is minimized.

Also managed to do a sharing appendix yesterday pm. Left one sharing and i am done!

The not-so-good thing is the blardy presentation (again!, despite my true love to present stuffs)

The difference between presenting here is that here I am presenting things i don;t know but the whole floor knows (i know it defeats the purpose of them listening to me, but what-to-do).

Presenting in Dubrovnik is that I am presenting something only I know, no one else knows. And of course the full blown all-paid-for holiday in Dubrovnik and 5 star hotels.

Argh.

Need to go and read up on Burn Management, never do any attachment there also.

It has been a month, I doctored.

I am now less BS. Less blow, less slow.

But I gues I am still blower and slower as compared to the average speed of other one month's old houseman.

Sometimes I wonder....

Why scolding is the most used medium of vertical teaching in our hospitals? What is it so hard that the superior cant tell the mistakes done by subordinates; properly and professionally? How time wasting is that to take a minute to understand how it happens?

At times I wonder if all of us can have a video of our career growth. I wonder how my MO wrote her first few documentations. Is it that newbie like us are extremely slow and blow in comparison to your first month that you need to be that disturbed?

At times I wonder....

Are we keeping the patient for our training and let fate takes the own course? How can refering back and forth can be the plan for the patient?

Why is it that we write TCA instead of PCA? TCA - To come again, PCA - Please come again?

Why is it wrong to write, TCA as soon as possible, as compared to TCA stat.

If you like to use stat so much, how on earth that you dont know the root word of stat? As much as I hate that word also I know it is statim. Perhaps we all should keep learning our dictions and terminology before you use them.

To those who think that I am depress, worry you shall not.

I am not. I am currently doing ok. The first test of housemanship is to be able to take scoldings, be it reasonable or not,

Roti Canai.

They say the best roti canai is the Transfer Road one.

I think ok ok lo. A bit different la.

But the best roti canai? To me the best roti canai is the one I make in Edinburgh (obviously not i canai one la....the frozen ones aka paratha bought from pakistani shop and curry d.i.y). Try having that after puasa roti canai for 1 year.

By the road side of Transfer Road.

The stall is simple, hot and school canteen style.

The menu actually I havent explore fully yet. Usually just eat the roti canai + roti telur + kari ayam with ayam

Penyamaran power. Cannot see this is roti canai right? Fully banjir style.

You must specify if you dont want it to mix together. Ahneh like to save water and soap. And i like it to be mixed so this kind of OneEarth thingy i like.

In slightly different angle. From the point of view of the WAGS (wives and girlfriends)

How to react to your boyfriends' football enthusiasm?

Most of the males like to watch or play that game.

This is the very game that unites man like no other. This is the kind of hobby that when you are part of it, you feel like you are part of a very manly brotherhood with extra manhood.

And that is why most men like to be associated with football.

Someone working as cashier in Tesco with same job and pay sounds so much less MAN than the very cashier that works for Lee Hoe (Komtar punya sports shop) or Al-Ikhsan Sports.

SO, when you have such a the privilege to be crossing path with such a manly man, what should be your way of reaction, or rather, your way of life?

You can be extensively supportive, like following him to watch the match in a stadium or mamak, or watch together with him at home at 2.48am (like now the author is watching Chelsea vs Newcastle), keeping the football facts within your manicure and fingertips, or even to be pathologically wasting your youth to follow him to watch him playing futsal with his 9 other sweaty, smelly and very-bad-hair-do-friends.

"I love him, and his life interest as well."

I dont support such notion. really.

Or you can be pretentiously supportive, trying to grasp a thing or two about football, ranging from the high end knowledge of offside rule, to the low end knowledge of the fact that the ball should be kick towards the opposite direction together as a team with similar color of the top, so that you can scream together with him and as if you have been watching football since the day both your grandpas are born..

"I love him therefore I'll pretend to like his life as well."

I hate you.

Or you can be parentally supportive, trying to play the role of the "matured" one in the relationship. Like his mum lo, as long as he attends tuition, and stays at home to study when exam is near, he is allow to play a day or two. But then he must finish his homework first, you know those type of thing. This puts you on a higher moral ground, with more sacrificial status in all arguments, at all times.

As I was so free, and has nothing to do, I offered to drive my mum around penang to jalan jalan and makan makan lo.

I woke up around 1030am (that's my very best effort!!). We went to Air Itam Market, to try to Duck Koay Chiap (lebih kurang like mihunkuih with loh duck - if this doesnt makes any sense then just ignore it)

The thing looks something like this:

To me it does look like the normal mi hun kuih that we the bosan people of edinburgh selalu masak and makan.

The best thing about the Koay Chiap is the duck meat la. I think quite nice la.

The stall is in one of the coffeeshop along the road of the market la. Opposite the famous squat-down-cooking-sister's Curry Mee

After that late breakfast, my mum said very long time didnt go Kwan Yin Temple Liau. So I sien sien mah drive her there lo.

But I didnt buy the colok to pray like the my semangated mum la.

Really very hot coz that time around noon, and there's not many trees around that area.

But this uncle still can half-asleep just under a small umbrella shed. He is selling birds for devotees to let them go free.

Although they say it is very good to contribute to free animals, the cruel thing is these vendors are going to do like the polis malaysia, tangkap-lepas-and tangkap semula.

It is extremely difficult for me to blog about food.

I tried before. I blogged about a food place in Edinburgh before. Here

But then as you can see, quite fail la.

When the food arrives, the first thing in my mind is:

EAT.

The menu is simple. Roti with butter or kaya or both, any kind of beverages a normal kopitiam offers, and half boiled egg.

Ohya, I was told that this place is famous for Kopi O. and also Chief Minister LGE's coffee place. So if got children who failed to get JPA, come here and wait for him la.

I didnt order the half boiled egg, because of my profound medical knowledge of salmonella. (it has high geliness anyway).

Damn boring.

I need a routine with income.

Trying to get a part time job, waitering seems so yesteryears, and sales job mostly wanted girls.

Semua boleh siap dlm masa 1-2jam shaja or less kalau korg ikut cara2 yg disyorkan ni..

Selesai sahaja segala proses lapor diri dan pendaftaran anda, anda sepatutnya telah menerima:

1) Surat Pengesahan Penerimaan Permohonan Sijil Perakuan Pendaftaran Sementara (dari MMC)

2) Surat Tawaran Perlantikan ke Jawatan Pegawai Perubatan Gred UD41, Surat Setuju - Terima Pelantikan (2 helai), Akuan Berkanun dan Borang Pemeriksaan Doktor untuk Perlantikan ke Perkhidmatan Kerajaan. (Semua surat ini dari SPA).

Military Tattoo

Every year I plan to get the edinburgh military tattoo ticket.

But as you know, the author has an allergy to queues.

However this year, one of his junior managed to get him a ticket!

To be very honest, I think this thing is not very extremely nice la. Not as some put it as YOU MUST SEE IT!

Come on.

Malaysia can do the same if we really want to. Find a good school band (like my penang free school one) and a group of Mat Rempit, we can do liau.

Watch on tv might be nicer.

Even with ticket also have to follow the queue and waited for 30minutes just to walk to our seats.

Overall it is a new experience la, but i wont recommend it to anyone.

Edinburgh Festival

I hate this place during this festival time leh.

Dont know where all these tourists come from. Must be belahan dedua.

Tesco food also can habis. Wth!

You cannot blame me for hating the festival leh.

I cannot understand fully the comedy show. If got subtitle maybe can la.

Then the musical.....hohoho...ang...musical? Doesnt rhyme at all.

Go kebab mahal also need to wait for ages. ARGH.

Packing up

I remembered the very first flight I took in my life, about 5 years ago.

It was from Penang to KL, enroute London Heathrow, and then connect to Edinburgh.

...

I remembered I came with mixed feelings of uncertainty, pride and anxiety. And a full 20kg allowance of luggage of maggi mee, rice cooker, and I-cant-remember-what-else.

But as they say, time flies. It really does.

Now 5 years later, I am actually going the opposite way.

Back to place I am familiar with.

With much lighter luggage.

Free and Easy has always been my travelling slogan, and this time is no exception.

I am going to check in a bag with 2 pair of football boots, a football, a pair of football socks and a new pair of shin guards.

Only using around 10kg of my check in allowance.

I really got nothing to bring home leh...

However, i am shipping home a list of some really random things.

A helmet and a motorcyclist -very-gaya jacket.

A microwave.

A kettle.

A printer.

All the above are going back via sea route.

Above all, i am going home with a huge relief, that despite my despicable efforts and attitudes in my main business here aka study, i managed to go home with a degree.

Phewwwwwwwwww.

Like that also still handsome. extreme.

She still thinks that this world is flat.

She does not have much geographical sense of earth. and that, penang itself is a country. across the bridge is seberang perai. and then ipoh is another place. and then kuala lumpur is another state. just around the corner is Hadyai, and then Bangkok. China, Japan, England, America, Africa is the rest of the world then.

She thinks human is a balloon of skin and flesh and filled with blood.

She believes that the roundness of her son's stomach is very normal and it is weird to for her son to even slightly think of flatten it. "Where do you think you can put your intestines then", she charged.

She saw a tourist bitten by a bear during phototaking on TV, and advises that all animal should be treated with extreme caution as you never know when they will go amok. That include the swans and ducks in arthur seat.

She thinks hospital is a place of germs and that if we step in we would be infected immediately. Therefore her son has never been to hospital since after birth 25 years ago, until very recently when her son was studying medicine. Her son was not allowed to visit people in hospital due to that belief.

She does not understand the difference between English, Malay and Hokkien. She uses them interchangebly. She spoke hokkien to ahmad wafi zuhdi knowing that he is a malay. She asked her son why the stewardess does not understand Gu Ling, and gives her tea.

She does not differentiate cars according to makers. She thinks all small cars are kancils, and all big cars are big cars. Just different colours. She cannot recognise car brands. But she knows there are Yamaha, Honda, and others; motorbikes.

She can fry egg and cook rice. And that is all. and she thinks Milo is sort of kacang dewa like in Dragonball comic, thanks to endless advertising in Malaysia television.

She can sit down and watch football as long as she knows which side her eldest son is betting on. She is then more anxious than the manager of the team. Ahmad wafi zuhdi and flatmates are enormously entertained by her reactions.

She thinks her youngest son is very super handsome. Just some pimples or else would be perfect.

She has limitless imaginations and beliefs that go beyond this short list. My personal favourite recently;

She thinks there is only one aeroplane in the airport, waiting for you, like bus stop.

and because of her, there's one jpa guy who was 100% certain of going home since day 1 of applying jpa.

If you have been following this blog for a few years, you would know that there is no particular theme subscribed by this author limpek.

This is because my English is so shit, so cant really write that well.

And I have nothing really brilliant to share, except my boredom.

These days, I am at the peak of my boringness. Seriously.

I would try to wake up before 10, to show my face in the office (ya currently doing some clerical work in the public health dept in med sch)

And I would chau before 12. To prepare myself for the afternoon games (my bosses are all cool with that due to my incredibly well look)

I just checked my actual result, of my finals.

Nearly failed in the mcq thingy...hahaha...

And Clinical didnt do very well also, but passed. I think the history taking part pulled me down.

But surprisingly, the viva portfolio bit was quite good. Got a B. (B is very rare in my entire life of med school)

Am I nothing but just having a piece of non-stop crapping mouth?

I am increasingly realising that, because I got a B as well for my viva pyschiatry.

My brain is not working as well as I used to.

I cant do Math anyway since primary school.

Talk talk talk.

I think my future would lie well in the speciality of counselling and those using just my mouth, rather than brain.

Any suggestions other than asking me go eat shit and die?

Docfiles (A Malaysian Tech-savvy Doctor who works in Penang and Blogs through his PDA Phone on the go) tells you what to expect as a Malaysian doctor might be like:

"1. No life outside medicine; this includes dating, sports, clubbing, chores for your parents and visiting the toilet.

"2. Not to live with your parents. Move out ASAP as they will never understand the ludicrous working hours that u go through. Furthermore, chores are not suitable for u as to rule No. 1.

"3. Not to be married until completion of all 4 years of Govt Compulsory service as u will be transferred left and right to some of the most remote Govt clinics in Malaysia. Having wife and kids to follow you to your new working area may increase high level of stress on all parties. Furthermore, if your spouse is a Govt Doctor, he/she will also be transferred away from u and no matter what appeal is made, KKM will put up a deaf ear (unless u have big cables or of a certain skin color).

"4. If married, no to have children until u finish all 4 years of Govt Compulsory service, as to which u and your spouse will not have much time for your child/children or they end up not recognizing u and refer the Indonesian maid as their mother (change in language patterns commonly follow).

"5. To obtain life insurance once your govt service begins as there is not many claims for accidents during work. Don't be fooled, Doctoring in Malaysia is hazardous.

"10. Interest in watching medical sitcoms such as House MD, Scrubs, ER, Grays Anatomy and Chicago Hope to inspire u to continue your life as a doctor as the exciting things u see on TV does not resemble the real life of a Malaysian govt doctor.

"11. Not to have any pets or plants (not even cactuses) as u will have no time to feed or care for them and eventually all will end up in your mortuary.

"12. Able to endure the stench of your own sweat as to when 36 hours "on call" does not permit u time to bathe or freshen up.

"13. Able to carry on working without food or water over 15 hours. ( I was in OT for 16 hrs without food, water or bathroom breaks). If during fasting month, able to break your fast with “water for injection” as u had no time to buy food.

"14. Able to come to work with fever/cough/illness or physical disability (sprained ankle etc) as to which doctors do not deserve MCs. (My MO was on crutches during rounds)

"15. Able to stand scolding, destructive criticism, kiss ass behaviors, racial bias, finger pointing, scape goating, and incompetency from your superiors.

"16. Able to withstand the jealousy when your friends call u up for some fun and ur stuck in the hospital during on call."

Unwanted Citizen, who labored in Sabah, wrote: "There are those who conquered medical school on a high note. They were all geared up to seize the hour and have even made up their minds to be a knowledgeable physician or a skilful surgeon or a non-bullshitting neurosurgeon. Life without exam

Nowadays, I wake up about 12pm, to eat cereal and then lying down comfortably on my couch in the living room watching the first match of the day.

About 2.30pm, I either make some food out of nothing or just get another bowl of cereal, for lunch, and the starts checking emails, reading news, and nth much really.

About 3pm, my golf sifu would come and fetch me to some random golf course, where we will sneak in through the backdoor to play for free.(it is rather expensive leh! i rather pay for powerleague)

About 5-6pm, I return home to get a football boots and a ball down to meadows to have a game of football with random ppl.

About 7pm I am home, take a shower and then sit down and watch the 3rd match of the day.

About 9.30pm, I will watch the highlights for 2nd match that I missed, usually unimportant match.

About 11.30pm, I will feel hungry and then I will make some food out of something.

About 1.30am, I will sit infront of computer and do some random thing...

About 3am, I felt sleepy and thats me done one day.

I must be honest.

I love this kind of life.
